Step into the Halloween spirit with the Workhouse Haunt, returning for its 11th year with even more thrills and laughs. This popular Northern Virginia event features a spooky walk-through trail set amidst the eerie, historic buildings of the old prison. Encounter chilling characters and scenes that are sure to get your heart racing.

This year’s theme, Twisted Tales of Terror, transforms classic fairy tales into creepy live-action scenes, including twisted takes on Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Pinocchio. While waiting for or after your trail experience, enjoy the Halloween fun at the Rizer Pavilion. Groove to DJ-mixed tunes (available Fridays, Saturdays, and Halloween Night), indulge in themed refreshments from the bar, savor delicious food truck treats, and explore Halloween art and trinkets at the Haunt Pop-up Shop. When night falls at Cox Farms, it’s time for Fields of Fear! During this thrilling event, the friendly Imaginature Trail turns into The Forest: Back 40, a half-mile stretch of sheer terror. This chilling attraction is joined by the Dark Side Hayride and Cornightmare to offer an unforgettable haunted experience. On the Firegrounds, enjoy bonfires, a six-lane slide, music, karaoke, delicious snacks, Foamhenge, and more.

Fields of Fear is not recommended for kids under 12, and those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult (18+). Tickets are exclusively available online—quantities are limited and will sell out, so grab yours early!

Join us for Fields of Fear on Friday and Saturday nights from September 20 to November 2 (plus Sunday, October 13), 2024, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. (last entry at 10 p.m.).
